Travel to and in Rhineland-Palatinate

Rhineland-Palatinate can be reached in several ways: conveniently and climate-friendly by train, by car or by plane. Within the country you can fall back on a well-developed regional transport network.

 

Rail

You can reach Rhineland-Palatinate via a well-connected railway system. With the ICE trains from the major German cities, you can get to Rhineland-Palatinate particularly quickly.

 

Regional Transport

Within Rhineland-Palatinate, you can travel comfortably on the regional trains or use the Rhineland-Palatinate bus network. We recommend purchasing a Rhineland-Palatinate ticket from Deutsche Bahn.

 

Automobile

Rhineland-Palatinate can be reached via the federal motorways as follows:

  • From the north and northwest via the A1
  • From the north via the A61
  • From the west via the A6 or A60
  • From the south via the A61
  • From the east via the A3 or A6

 

Airplane

With Frankfurt Airport, the largest German and one of the largest European Airports is in the immediate vicinity. You can also reach Rhineland-Palatinate via Frankfurt Hahn Airport, Cologne/Bonn Airport, Saarbrücken Airport and Luxembourg Airport.
